Canadian Blues/Rock Guitarist Tony Springer Just Killin' it in The Clubs and Recording

By Mark Grove

As Told by Tony Springer

Seasons greeting to all guitar players.I recently did a short interview with Canadian blues guitarist Tony Wild -T Springer.Toney seems to have more of a modern rock feel in his blues playing even though he played in the Chicago Blues scene for a short time.Tony's band toured with Deep Purple and shred phenom Yngwie Malmsteen.

Canadian Guitar Player Guitar and Gear tips

Tony then came to Toronto where he spends a lot of time now,and recorded(True Bliss)and (Fender Bender) two albums which were lauded in the blues community in Canada as top albums.Tony says  he's working on a new album which should be interesting. But one little nugget that blues/rock players may not know about Tony,is that he portrayed Jimi Hendrix in the film,"Daydream Believers".

Because of Tony's insane touring, recording and session schedule he decided to get back to the real deal, and concentrate on making music and playing clubs where fans and players appreciate his music even more.Tony also did backing guitar sessions for Bowie's(Black Tie White Noise). At the moment Tony is playing with two kick ass players.Guenther Cappelle Bass and Vocals, and he says they've been together since he came back from Chicago.

Hell, that's longer than all his relationships with babes. And Tony has Murad on Stix, and Gunduz on drums.Tony says thev'e been just tearin' it up.The Spirit are playing a lot here in Southern Canada, the   Toronto region, and all over Canada.I'll give you guys his website address and where you can listen to    Tony's great band and anything online.Live is definitely better.

For Fans of Tony's Gear and Rig:
Amps:Fender Twin 100 Watt amp or a Marshall JCM 100 Watt head
Cabinet:4x12 Cabinet (I assume it's a Marshall)
Pedals:Cry Baby Wah,Boss Chourus,Boss Delay Pedal,MI Audio Distortion(Toney endorses MI)

Tony's Picks:
The Spirit has a compilation disc called Love Crazy and Givin' Blood. These are Toney's first two discs. His fave tunes are Midnite Blues,Talk Dirty and Loveland.
