Keyboard "Guru" Derek Sherinian Talks About Why You Should be Playing Your Own Material, Working With Other Players And The Importance Of Touring And Media

Derek Sherinian is the only Keyboard player I like,and he has taken it upon himself to learn from the top players even though he had no contacts with these people. This interview is done in Greece with what I assume are Greek Subtitles. Derek has always played his own material mainly,but has become an in-demand session keyboard player who plays heavy music that I friggin' love!

Most musicians will play with musicians who will never make a dime and say they don't want anything other than to play.That's Fuckin' Bullshit!!! The majority of musicians who play regionally,nationally and tour overseas will make more money writing,composing and playing their own material.

Derek also talked about the importance of playing with better players and Joint Venturing with them on albums as well. Derek talked about his recent collaboration with singer Glenn Hughes,Bluesman Joe Bonamassa and Drummer Jason Bonham. I always find some gold in interviews with better players like Sherinian.
