But without missing a beat Bill stood up and answered that question quite well by saying it has to do with a lot more than talent--but practicing and playing your ass off above all else. Big Bill also talked about the great blues bands that have backed him up over the years and some who have had a big impact on him as well.
But where this all goes back to is at least for Big Bill, is practice, practice, practice. Even if you do play a lot of shows. I say this because you may need to tighten up certain songs or work on new ones. Bill even chatted about helping other bands and looking for great players with a lot of desire who you can form joint ventures with. Even though Big Bill is the son of Muddy Waters doesn't mean all these blues and rock bands want to play with BB or back him up either. I tried to download the interview but there was some software glich and it was not possible unfortunately. I hope some of this rubs off on you positively and gives you the guts to get out there with your band and jam, practice, help other bands and play the kind of music you want.
To grab some of Big Bill's material just click the link below to Blind Pig Records and take a gander at Bill's Bio as well to give you some insight on who he really is as a musician. Not just the son of Muddy Waters.
