Carlos Santana--And Why Your Rock or Blues Should Include His Tune "Soul Sacrifice" It In Your Set List

Carlos and company from Woodstock 1969, where some of the greatest players from the late 60's and early 70's prevailed. Santana played and still plays music that is hard rock, yet moves you in a way Metal, Rap, Punk or Hip-Hop will never. It's real and hits your core baby!!

Santana plays his classic Gibson SG like a man on fire! and he had a great cast of drummers and a bass player who made the music support the earth, and Carlos lit up the sky. And I've never seen footage of Carlos in the 60's or early 70's,and I almost didn't recognize him.

The real reason I think you should include Santana material in your set list is he was able to command that kind of jazz, rock feel to his material that many artists were lacking in their tone and chording. He was always a humble player who just kept on learning from other players and using only small parts of their playing and gear setup, to learn and adjust his playing so it suited his tone and feel. He was also a bit of an innovator in that he played like very few players. Too many wanted to be the next Hendrix. I take my hats off to Carlos.
I haven't heard much from him lately though.

I've only seen footage of him when Neil Schon played with him in the late 70's. So use this song in your blues set list, it will stretch your playing and give you a perspective you didn't have before.
