Gov't Mule Guitarist Warren Haynes--Gives His Take On Becoming A Real Musician
Warren Haynes is one Axeman I respect and look forward to hearing all the time. David Specter, a well known blues/jazz player interviews Warren and asks questions that the answers Warren gives are "Pure Gold" to players who take action on them, and become better players and bands.
Warren also talks about the guitars he uses, his amp rig and some amps he uses you might want to try out at your local music store and see if your guitar and playing style resonate with.Warren also chats about technique and even why not every night is a good night onstage--even for the best players.
He even espouses some insight into practicing and why we need to listen to our past music greats even more than today's.
Warren is one of the greats who doesn't showboat, but can solo like a bastard his way, not someone else's way. It would be well worth it for your band to listen to one of the best Blues/Jam bands in the last 30 years, that being Gov't Mule. If you get the chance, your band should go see a Mule concert. You'll gain even more insight into being a gigging band. If you can swing it, interview Gov't Mule. Why can't you?
Watch this whole interview with Warren and you'll learn a lot if you take action on it.
I'll leave the link to the Gov't Mule site right here guys. Enjoy, and have a great weekend playing where ever your band is.
