Session Ace Carl Verheyen Gives Out Info On How To Work With Session Players,Play Like A Real Player And Rig Tips--He Should Be Charging Thousands For These Tips!

Wanna Be a great session cat? Sure ya' do just watch both these golden nugget filled videos with Carl Verheyen and take notes!

Carl Verheyen talks at length in this video interview about playing sessions their way, your way, making your own style and how to set up gear for both live and studio sessions. Oh yeah, and playing with great players like Albert Lee, blues man Joe Bonamassa and Steve Morse

Carl talks about doing movie scores and doing them  so they don't sound like a guitar, and how to use more distortion and gain without having to use effects. There by having more of an organic feel on session work, which will help you develop your own tone and playing style.

At least to me.

Verheyen also gloms on about the ornamentation of your stylings and actually listening and basically applying what a producer or band wants just enough and include a smidgen of your own style when you first start doing sessions. But Carl says not be out to impress others with your chops or virtuosity. CV also talks about using spacing, phrasing and different riff techniques not to play fast, but to use a style that expands a song, not your ability.

You don't want to take away from the song by just playing fast so to speak.

Carl says that interval chords can work to your advantage especially with more harmonic or melodic type runs. Not heavier riffing.
