Yeah, Zakk uses a Marshall and a Gibson Les Paul I think in the video. As well as numerous stomps to boost and give his sound feel and texture he can call his own. But you should use amps and effects that are right for the type of music you play. Listen to the gear Zakk uses and go test some of the amps and effects Zakk uses and decide for yourself.
Zakk uses Marshalls because they're just that good an amp. I personally think they're better for live work than recording an album. Zakk said they'd be good for recording which I tend to differ with. He uses the Marshall Advanced Valve State and a number of Dunlop pedals including a Wylde Overdrive to give his tone more boost and beef it up.
ZW tends to use a lot of chorus type effects for his music to clean it up a bit and give it not such an ear bleeding tone. I would personally like to see Zakk recording with Marshall's to see if they're anyway half decent for recording sessions.
And just because you buy what Zakk uses, doesn't mean you'll get his tone. Chances are it will never happen. He's just that good. Why did he play with Ozzy for years?
For more info on the gear Zakk uses, just go to these sites and take a gander. Chances are you'll see demos and maybe some interviews with top players who actually use this type of gear.
No I don't get anything for leaving these links to marshall and Dunlop products.
So go hog wild and grab Zakk's gear. At least the gear that's right for your music.
