Black Sabbath Coming Out With New Album, A Tour And Some Insights From Geezer

At the Winter NAMM show in January, Guitar World's Eddie Trunk talked to Geezer Butler away from all the nutso Geezer fans. I happen to be one of them. He talked about the new album, tentatively named 13, the tour, a new drummer--and even his new Signature Lakland Bass and a new Geezer Hartke amp that will come out later.

Rick Rubin is the producer on the new album. So they're in good hands. I expect a very gritty, non radio hit like new songs that should enthrall the most critical Sabbath fan. For musicians who read the blog here, you'll learn a lot just from watching the two videos I'm putting up here. One an interview with Geezer, and the other some insight from the whole band on the new album. And no Bill Ward will not be the drummer.

Like I keep saying to you musicians, try not just to be entertained by Sabbath. Learn from what they do in the studio and onstage--as well as the type of equipment they use--and how to tweak yours to get the tone and feel necessary to make it your own.

Okay, here's the videos. they're both short. Take notes and use their acumen over the years to help your band.

PS: Both Sabbath and Geezer will both be touring. I'm assuming not at the same time. I'll put a link up to the Sabbath and Geezer dates later.
