Why Your Guitar Playing Shouldn't Be Perfect, And Why You Should Embrace Your Mistakes

I've said in many articles that you as a guitarist whether you're a beginner or an old pro have to stop worrying about trying to be perfect. Yes, even top players who make piles of cash worry about not being perfect. Don't worry about others showing you up and just play through your mistakes. You will make mistakes and you have to deal with it.

Some guy might be playing better than you and you make a mistake on a lick. So what!! Keep playing and come back with a better riff. You can do it. Maybe your tone is off and your notes are off slightly. Embrace the mistakes and keep on playing. Maybe your amp settings are way off and it's sounding muddy.

Play your guitar pickups to those settings and change it up a bit. You may end up coming up with an element of your playing you never thought possible. Get it? I knew ya would fellow musicians.I

Embrace imperfection and mistakes, and learn why you need to use imperfection to your advantage. Then get out there and play a jam session or for that band you always wanted to audition for, and never had the guts guys.
