You need to kick back and play with the other jammers. Play in lock step or play a little below their tempo, and listen to the way they play. You'll learn a lot if you listen and be able to take your playing to a whole new level.
As well, just watching other players and learning a thing or two will take you farther than trying to " Cut Heads" which is a blues term. And lastly, you want to be the kind of jammer that others want to play and hang with. That means not worrying if players don't want to jam with you and you do your best to learn a thing or two and actually ask the better players how to play certain parts of a blues tune.
I'll be putting these blues jam tips up fairly regularly to help blues and rock players. So watch this video I grabbed then hit your city's blues jam where ever it is.
Drop me a line and tell me where your town's blues jam is.
Much blues success to you.
Mark
