Rush Drummer Neil Peart Talks Philosophically About Life As A Drummer--And A Few Tips You Can Glom Onto As A Drummer

Hey guys, I thought I'd put this interview up of Rush Drummer Neil Peart, who's not just considered one of rocks best drummers, but a lyricist and writer who was able to take the sound of Rush and mold it like a sculptor and take their music to a higher level than just being about music it's self.

Neil also talks about his drumming technique and the value of a guitar player to keep your timing in line. There are even a few tidbits on playing live and how to stay sane on tour, even if you just play regionally. And last but not least, Neil talks about being an opening band for so long and how that helped the band develop as a unit and business.

If you're a rabid Rush fan like myself and many musicians I know, you'll want to check out their Documentary which can be found on YouTube. But for now give this interview with Neil a spin and you'll gain some knowledge from one of music's most knowledgeable and humble people. A wonderful person who just so happens to be a drummer we all love to hear.

Thanks to George Strombopolous of the show "The Hour" out of Toronto for doing this interview.

Enjoy and take notes guys.
