Yngwie Malmsteen Has New Seymour Duncan Pickups And A Few Tips On Getting The Right Pickups

Seymour Duncan has done it again with new YJM Fury Pickups which are all Malmsteen!

I think a lot of guitar players who like to shred can learn a lot from this interview with Yngwie talking to some of the people from SD involved in making his signature pickups. There are some tips on how pickups like this might respond depending on your particular studio setup or where on the guitar you'll get the best response if you decide to grab these pickups.

The picture here is of Yngwie doing some work on his signature pickups which ended up being sold and the funds going to a Haiti Relief fund. Some great pickup work from the Shred Master himself. And for helping others  along with Seymour Duncan.

This is a 10 minute interview and well worth taking the time to take some notes. Then apply what YM is saying. He's been in the game the last 30 to 35 years so he knows what he's talking  about. Shrapnel Records Mike Varney and some others discovered him, and his first album "Rising Force" just set the whole heavy metal and shred guitar world on fire!

Well, I'm going to end this here and let you watch the interview and learn a bit. I have the link to the interview on Guitar World, and a link to Seymour Duncan where you can pickup YM's YJM Fury pickups. If you play shred it might well be worth it to pay for these pickups if it can make your sound better.

But take Yngwie's advice on studio setup and what he wanted response and tone wise from these pickups. That's the key to tell you whether they're worth it for your band's sound.

Okay, much success guys.
