Musicians, We All Need Hobbies---Like The Members Of Rush

"Living on a lighted stage approaches the unreal"--"Limelight" from the Rush album (Moving Pictures)

Funny, I was looking online for the movie "Rush" but the first thing that popped up on You Tube was a video, actually a documentary on the band Rush. I thought hold the friggin' presses Mark this is more important than any stupid movie. So I started looking through the documentary on Rush. Interesting little tidbits and golden nuggets musicians and every fan of Rush can learn from.

Alex Leifson, Geddy Lee and Neil Peart talk about the need to get away from the stage and the life of  a musician any chance they get. Reason being, it can eat you up inside and anyone who does anything from the bloody local  "Butcher" to the "Baker" need to just do something away from their craft to get a different perspective, and come back with a better feel, ability and desire to perform their little hearts out.

I realize it's tough to get away from being a full-time musician for a lot of you but you need to do just that.Yes, these guys have 'plenty-o-cash' to do what they want in life, but have different interests and you'll be a better person period. Just watch the video because Markie said so. Hell, the wife might like ya' better for having an interest outside of the job, and cutting the lawn.

Enjoy and much peace man.

Mark
