Why You Should Support Your Local Musician

What's one great thing you can do today? Support your local musician. What I mean is, actually search out the bands and type of music you like, and go pay for a ticket to go see them. You don't have to buy their CD, but actually go to a local club. Chances are in your city you have a blues, jazz, hip-hop,country--you name it there is a band or act who plays regularly and gets squat. The money is mainly in playing live gigs for these people.
Back in the 80's when The Rolling Stones popularity waned a bit album wise, they went on huge tours and played their asses off! Go where the money is musicians. But do support your local musician. Seeing live music gets you out there up and close to actual musicians, actually more than seeing a concert at a huge venue. Fans want to know more about a musicians music, and even the gear they use. Chances are, some friend of yours is a huge music fan and knows local musicians you like. It won't cost you a fortune like a concert, and you'll get up close and personal to the musicians. If you like their music enough, take a video of a song of theirs and twitter it, or youtube it and tell the band. Get on their email list and go from there. And the band will love you for it. Okay, get out there and enjoy your local musician. Peace.
